David "Dave" James Falgout, 47, a native of Chauvin and resident of Gray, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Andreé Gaston Falgout; sons, Chaz and Zach Falgout; grandchild, Kayden Falgout; parents, Lanny and Edyth Falgout; brother, Douglas Falgout and wife, Christina; sister, Denise Truscott and husband, Charles; grandmother, Lydie Falgout; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Linda Gaston; brother-in-law, Brian Gaston; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by Virgil Falgout, and Thaddius and Rai Pellegrin.
He was a captain with the Houma Fire Dept. and taught fire safety at Fletcher Technical and Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Wisconsin during the Gulf War.
