Barry McCoin passed away due to cancer January 2, 2014 at home with his family by his side. He was born on October 14,1960 in Houston, Texas where he lived until his passing. Barry was a printer at the University of Houston where he worked diligently during his illness til the very end. He graduated from MacArthur High School in 1979 and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1979 to 1983. After separating from the Navy he attended Harris County Community College where he took several courses.
He is preceded in death by his father Harold McCoin and infant brother Larry McCoin. He is survived by his daughter Ashley McCoin, son Eric McCoin, stepdaughter Monica Floch and grandson Blaze McCoin; mother Clarice Fern McCoin; Sister Linda and husband Jerry Michka and Sharon Hodges; brothers Curtis McCoin, Gary McCoin and Terry McCoin; faithful dog Gator; as well as numerous close relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday January 6th from 4 to 7:30 pm at Guardian Angel Funeral Home, 2412 Little York Rd. Houston, Texas 77093.

So hard to believe it's been nine years. We still talk about you often. You were one of a kind. You will never be forgotten by us or those who cared about you.

Barry was a great co-worker that always whistled music to us and kept us going with a smile. I will miss that. My condelences to the family, he was strong until the end. God Bless.

We were deeply saddened by the news of Barry's passing. I was proud to call him my friend and will miss our talks and his laughter every day at work. We have lost one of the funniest, kindest and gentlest people I have ever had the privilege to know. R.I.P. my friend. Our heart felt condolences to his family.
