Charles Gordon Jones passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the age of 86 years. He was born on August 20, 1927, in San Antonio, Texas, to Edwin Bessett Jones and Minda Smith Jones. Charles proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On April 5, 1958, he married Patricia Ann Corrigan in Houston. He worked as an Operations Manager at Exxon Co. USA, and retired after more than 30 dedicated years. He has lived in the Katy area since 1983, where he attended Second Baptist Church West Campus.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pat Jones; children, Rev. Charlie Jones and his wife Karen, Cheryl Maloney and her husband Vince, Gerald Jones and his wife Erin, and Garret Jones and his wife Heather; grandchildren, Brittney Mosteller and her husband Corey, Amanda Jones, Jordan Maloney, Taylor Maloney, Megan Jones, Mary Jones, Christina Jones, Landyn Jones, Korbyn Jones, and Nolan Jones; great grandchildren, Gavin Mosteller, Micah Mosteller; as well as numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Virginia Neri and Edward Jones.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy, where a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014, with his son, Rev. Charlie Jones officiating.
