A Psalm of David.

Psalm 23: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever!

Dearest mom, you were the best mom any child could hope for. Our childhood years were so much fun mostly because of you. You were a great confidant as we kids grew into adults. Thank you for teaching us to know right from wrong and to know God. The word "stranger" was not in your vocabulary as you made everyone feel you kindness and friendly ways. I miss your gorgeous smile, dancing eyes and the touch of your hand. You are so beautiful in life and in spirit. I'll always remember you and think of you often. You are my dearest friend and I love you mom. Thank you for leaving your wonderful footprints through your exemplary life.
Put in a good word for us all with Jesus and I'll be seeing you soon enough.
Your Daughter,
Janice XO...

I love you so much! You always showed each one of us unconditional love. You always made me feel so special and you made sure to let me know you were always so proud of me. You always had a smile on your face and always made a room sparkle. I am so blessed to have you as my Maw Maw. I am also blessed that my girls were able to meet and know their great grandmother- Gigi. Carrington talks about daily since she saw you last. She tells me, "Gigi went night night in heaven, and I love her to the moon!" Being 2 1/2 yrs old she amazes me and I am so thankful she had a chance to feel your love. I know you are embraced in heaven with Paw Paw and Bridget. I love you and will forever miss you and can't wait to hug, kiss, and see your smiling face again.

Dear Maw Maw - Everyone always tells me the stories of how special a time it was when the first grandson was born. How much joy was brought to the family to have a little baby crawling around the house.

The truth is, we (collectively the grand kids) were the blessed ones. We were able to experience the unwavering love and warmth of you and Paw Paw through the years. You believed in us no matter the circumstances in which we found ourselves. You gave us confidence and assurance when needed to prop us up, laughter to ease a mood, and a sweet hug and kiss when sorrow filled our lives. You had the touch of an angel.

You and Paw Paw were a driving force in shaping us through faith, family and work. Perfect role models to follow.

Although the memory of my experiences at the Yum Yum place have faded since those early days, I was reminded every trip home to your and Paw Paw's house of how much love you had for me. It grew, it didn't waver, it never faded. It always made me feel like a kid when I saw you guys.

We were the blessed ones Maw Maw and we'll always remember you in our hearts.

Thank you for being you.

Mom,

With all my love on your 88th birthday and for eternity, here is my poem that is you ...

We Call Her… Boots!

They gave her Boots
and Buddy to her twin brother,
as nicknames upon their birth
that became firmly part of their heritage roots,
thanks to their caring father and mother,
who did so out of love and a comic strip's mirth.

And while life became mean
at the age of nineteen
upon the news of the tragic loss of Buddy
in the hedgerows of Normandy turned bloody…
Boots' tears did eventually dry,
knowing that her twin was eternally secured
with God well beyond the earth's blue sky,
which is a comforting thought that has endured.

Boots' faith in our Creator
can easily be seen now, many years later,
in the way she looks and smiles at you,
even when she might be a little loud and upset too…
as her love is unwavering, constant and true.

Another gift of her loving style
is her natural, funny side
of just being Boots,
which easily can make you smile
and even cause anger to subside
that involves difficult disputes.

Boots is also called Mom, Maw Maw, and GiGi
by the gift of birth to and from her children and theirs,
who love her very much.
We thank God for being part of her family tree,
always keep her in our prayers,
and hope for many more years of her sweet touch!

Sometimes words are hard to sum up all the years of friendship as Boots was a very special part of my life. Family meant everything to her and her faith and dedication to service through faith was an inspiration to all those that knew her. I will also hold in my heart those times we took our trips all across Texas as well as national events and WUCWO. My prayers are with all of you and thank you for sharing this beautiful Lady will all of her friends.

Dear Bernard, David, Dale, Michael, Janice and Bancroft Family Members,
My prayers and thoughts are with you all during this time. Your Mom will always have a Special Place in my heart because she was so kind, happy and genuine! She was always happy to see us and made us feel so welcome and interested in how we were doing. She cared about us all and let us know. She encouraged us to have parties and get togethers as teenagers and even as we became adults to cherish the friendships that we had. I don't think I ever saw her without a smile on her face. I will surely miss her as others but when I think about your Wonderful Mother I have so many Happy Memories of her and the Great times at your home because of her. I will definitely remember her with a smile on my face and in my heart. Love You All,
