Donald Leonetti Obituary

Donald Joseph Leonetti, 45 of Missouri City, Texas left this world suddenly and far too soon on Thursday, July 17, 2014. Born June 8, 1969 in Houston, TX to Rose Ann Leonetti, Donald was a beloved husband; father, brother, son, friend and uncle. Donald and his sister Jo Ann grew up in the Houston and Missouri City area where he attended St. Christopher Catholic School, Lewis Elementary and Dulles High School, class of '88. It was at the Art Institute of Houston he met his best friend and wife Jennifer Fane. He was a pillar of the Fort Bend County community and will be missed by all. As the founder and owner of Leonetti Graphics, Donald was known throughout Fort Bend as a respected businessman who provided the uniforms, event t-shirts and signage for so many people and organizations throughout Leonetti Graphics 25 years of service. As a philanthropist he was recognized for his generous and giving heart providing support to so many of the community's charities and benevolent organizations. Particularly special to Donald and Jenni was Fort Bend Young Life and they are credited with being instrumental in the creation and growth of the Ridge Pointe chapter of the organization. Through the Leonetti family's generosity and love hundreds of kids lives have been directed towards Christ. As a friend he was known as someone who brought passion, laughter and life to any room and as a husband and father he was known as a man who loved his family deeply. In death he joins his loving grandparents Joseph and Vita (Sedita) Leonetti. Donald is survived by his best friend and wife of 22 years Jennifer Leonetti, his son Matthew, 18, and daughter Lauren, 14. His Mother Rose Ann Leonetti, Sister Jo Ann Leonetti, In-laws Dr. Larry and Cathy Fane, Meredith and Nikhil Joshi, Nathan and Violetta Fane. Aunt and Uncle Damon and Candi Leonetti. Nieces, Jennifer Bragg and Tyler Kahlden, Anika Joshi and Abby Fane. great nephew Aiden Kahlden, Cousins Casey Leonetti-Cooper, Eric Cooper and Laura Leonetti and closest friend Paul Price.
Visitation will be held at River Pointe Community Church, 5000 Ransom Road, Richmond, TX on Tuesday, July 22, from 5 - 8 pm and memorial services will be the following day at River Pointe Community Church at 11 AM. In honor of Donald's life and his absolute abhorrence of all things formal everyone is requested to wear jeans and any T-shirt created by Leonetti Graphics.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be sent to Fort Bend Young Life, PO Box 1842, Sugar Land, TX 77487-1842.

Dear Jennifer and family, we have known Don since he worked at Video Plus and always lovingly called him,Video Don. Dear Jenni and Family,
There are no words to express how much my husband and I appreciate Donald and how he has helped our young adults, by teaching them about the graphics business and about "giving back". All this he did out of the goodness of his own heart. He gave of his valuable time
and energy like very few would volunteer to do. It brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it... his goodness and generosity. We love you and thank you Donald! May the Lord give the family strength and peace during this time of transition. Donald's spirit lives on, forevermore. We will never forget him.
With Love,

Roseann, You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Such sad news regarding Donald's recent, all-too-soon death! We will always remember Donald as a young man, favorite grandson and nephew to your brother, Damon, who Donald so admired. Unfortunately, Dianne and I did not see his obituary in time to attend his memorial service. However, we know his grandparents will welcome him with open arms to their heavenly home. Both Joe and Vita were our Texas parents and were ALL about family and friends. While Donald was taken ALL TOO SOON, he - like your parents - remain in our hearts forever!

RoseAnn,
I am truly sorry for the loss of your son. I did not know Donald as the man he grew into, just the fun loving little boy who always came over to visit with Cousin Pearl. I suppose they are visiting again now. Both smiling and joking with each other as they always did. Love to you and Donald's family.

Donald shines - truly, in my junior high years/elementary, my brother and I (with our record-holding) VideoPlus late fees - he made our lives easier - and waived them like no tomorrow. Moreover, Don was always so sweet and polite and just one of those unconditional souls you feel comfortable around. My heart breaks but cannot wait to greet him in Heaven. And not to go on, but he was beyond kind to John Bryan and me at VideoPlus. My cup runneth over. And I know he's laughing.

I graduated with Donald from Dulles High School- class of 88'.
I heard this terrible news while away on vacation with my family this past week and my heart has not stopped aching since. Although, I haven't seen Donald in several years, he was one-of-a-kind- always friendly, always funny, always authentic and always kind. I have to say- as I heard the news of this senseless tragedy- I thought- "why Donald? Why now? Why in this way?" I accept those questions will go unanswered, but I have immense faith that his journey is ongoing and he's impacting many souls with his love, humor and compassion. I have beautiful memories of Donald and Paul in high school. I always thought their friendship was an inspiration. They were two peas in a pod and they made me laugh non-stop everyday! Simply put, they made life more fun. It was and continues to be some of my fondest memories from Dulles. Donald, I send you so much love and I'm praying for your beautiful family... I'll never forget you. Truly.

Cheer, volleyball, tennis, church, swim team--all shirts designed by Donald. But my very favorites sit in my daughters' keepsake boxes. Only Donald would produce 4 "Honey and PopPop Camp" shirts for my girls' yearly summer trip to my parents' beach house. I remember clearly how much he loved the idea of the 4 of them running around in their bright yellow matching shirts! He was the kindest, most generous man I've met. His loss will impact many in this community. I pray for peace and comfort for family, friends, and all who loved Donald.

I remember when I went to him when I was at Elkins and he helped me design shirts and posters around the whole "It's a great day to be a Knight" thing. As I read these remembrances, they are SO on target -- always smiling, always causing others to smile. Thank you for all the support and contributions to students and schools in FBISD. And I really smile when I think about those times at those cheerleader competitions that lasted FOREVER. Donald would come in just as Mini Force, Youth Power, or Jr. Surge was about to perform. I first met Donald when I went to work for the Fort Bend ISD Police Department in 1994. I was the coordinator and started the Campus Crime Stoppers for the District. Donald was extremely helpful with my good and bad ideas. He was very generous man. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Donald would always be in a good mood trying to make everyone laugh. He was a good business man and a world class human. My prayers go out to his family in these hard times.

Dear Leonetti Family,
I would like to express my deepest condolences to your family. My son has told me many times that Mr. Leonetti is so "cool". Our boys are friends and graduated high school together last month. They both have a love for cars and I'm sure Mr. Leonetti did as well. He has taken my son to a car show along with he and his on an occasion or two. Although I did not have the opportunity to meet this amazing man I am blessed to know of him. I want the family to know that when I ride down Sienna Parkway I am praying the whole way as I look at the beautiful ribbons that are there for Mr. Donald Joseph Leonetti.

Sincerely,
Bellow Family
