Cecil M. Burnette, 75, died Monday, March 4, at his home in Houston . Cecil was born in Bristol, Virginia. He was predeased by his parents, Jesse and Mamie Burnette, and a sister, Jane Smith, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Survivors include his sister, Kitty Maiden and a brother, Bob, in Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. He grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida, graduated from Seabreeze High School and attended the University of Florida
. Cecil served in the U.S. Army. He worked at the Daytona Beach News-Journal prior to moving to Houston. He was Advertising Manager at the Houston Post, before starting his own business, Mid-Town Printing in Houston. He was very active in the Living Mosaic : Montrose Church, where he centered his life, surrounded by his "second family" which included long time friend, Ray Stowell and many other loving, wonderful friends . A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 9, 3pm at the Living Mosaic Church, 4920 Cullen Blvd., Houston.
