Charles "Coach" Levi Turnbough, 68, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 28, 1945 to Louie Doyle Turnbough and Odolene Haas Turnbough in Roswell, New Mexico. Following high school graduation, Charlie played basketball at South Plains Junior College and later played at the University of Texas
, graduating with a degree in education and biology. Charlie and his family moved to Houston to begin his teaching and coaching career where he eventually became the head basketball coach at Spring Branch High School for 15 years while earning his Masters of Education degree from Prairie View A&M. Upon leaving education he was a sales manager for Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry Turnbough. He is survived by his significant other, Dianne Pollock; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Philip Strohbehn; daughter and son-in-law, Holland and Britt Poulsen; grandchildren, Nicolas Charles Turnbough, Summer Renee Strohbehn, Kira Rayne Poulsen, Lena Nicole Poulsen, Naia Christine Poulsen; mother of his children, Beverly Flores; sister, Irene Stringer. Charlie was a man of love, honor, and integrity and a truly devoted father and friend. His life is treasured by every person that he met along the way. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home.
