CONRAD MILTON CUMMINGS. Conrad Cummings of Houston suffered a massive stroke on December 18, 2012, and passed from the loving arms of his beloved wife, Beverly, to the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ. He was born in Shreveport, La. on July 1, 1933 to Gladys and Carson Cummings. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Carson, Jr. and George, and his grandsons, Garrett Ford and Carson Cummings. He is survived by this sister, Patricia Madden of Shreveport and her family. Also surviving are his wife Beverly Arrant Cummings, his daughters Leigh Boyer and husband Bill; Constance Ollendorf and husband David; his sons Ross Cummings and wife Melisa; Ryan Cummings and wife Annie; grandchildren Clinton Ford & wife Alma, Blake Ford & wife Melissa, Blair & Olivia Ollendorf, Adair Cummings, Keating and Ansley Cummings; and great- grandchildren, Sebastian, Sofia & Ava Ford.
Conrad attended Byrd HS in Shreveport and Texas A&M University
from which he graduated in 1955 with a BS in Pet. Engineering. While at A & M, he served as Senior Class President, Corps Chaplain, Lt. Colonel Corps Staff, Ross Volunteer, and was selected to Who's Who. In 1956, he married Beverly Arrant of Bastrop, La. Like his father before him, Conrad was an oilman. He began his professional career with Lion Oil Company which later became Monsanto. In 1970 he joined McRae Oil & Gas, where he rose to the position of President. When McRae sold to Lear Petroleum, he stayed with them to help make the transition. He founded Prospect Energy in 1985 where he was President until his retirement in 2009.
Conrad was, first and foremost an honest, loving, unassuming man of integrity. He loved his Lord and Savior, his family, and his family of faith at Windwood Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his golf buddies at Champions Golf Club and his Aggie buddies. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service to celebrate Conrad's life and resurrection will be held Saturday, 2 PM December 29, 2012 at Windwood Presbyterian Church, 10555 Spring Cypress Rd., Houston, TX 77070
