David Morgan Firestone, Jr., of Houston, Texas, passed away at age 55 after a brief illness on Sunday, the 8th of September, 2013. David was born in Sarasota, Florida on August 4, 1958, and is survived by his loving mother, Nancy Runnells and his stepfather Clive Runnells; sister, Amy Firestone Goodrich and husband Hart; brother, Jeffrey Bryan Firestone and wife Heather; brother, Calvin Baxter Garwood III and wife Sally; brother, John Morgan Garwood; sister, Helen Runnells DuBois and husband Ray; brother, Clive Runnells III and wife Kathryn; sister, Anne Garwood Conner and husband Tom; and numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his wife, Megan Acree Firestone, and his father, David Morgan Firestone.
David attended St. John's School in Houston, Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts, and The University of Texas
at Austin. David will be remembered by all those who knew him for his gentle nature, remarkable athletic gifts, and boundless energy and passions in his youth. He loved spending summers with his family at the Iron City Fishing Club in Ontario, Canada.
A private memorial service was held for the family on Saturday, September 14th at The Church of St. John the Divine with Reverend Reagan W. Cocke officiating.
