Earl Ledet

EARL JAMES LEDET, 73, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 17, at his home in Cypress, TX. He was a native of New Orleans, where he was born on April 26, 1940, as the son of Leslie Ledet and Minnie Alleman Ledet. A veteran of the United States Coast Guard, he raised his family in New Orleans, before moving to Houston in 1988, where he met his wife of 17 years, Susan Clarke Ledet.
He is survived by his wife; his two sons, Jim Ledet and wife Suzanne of Austin, TX, and Craig Ledet and wife Judy of Houston; and grandchildren, Benjamin, Daniel, Andrew, and Ellie Ledet. Also survived by bonus step-daughter Christine Oswald and husband Stewart; grandchildren, Triple and Austin Oswald; and step-son Chuck Chapman and wife Christine; and grandchildren, Taylor, Nathan and Megan.
In addition to the time spent with his grandchildren, Earl was an active member of the Houston Orchid Society and enjoyed his green house, gardening and boiling crawfish for his friends and family. Although an avid LSU and Saints fan, Earl's favorite pastime was spending many hours supporting his son's and grandchildren's athletic and school activities. This son, husband, father, grandfather and friend , will surely be missed by many.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Klein Funeral Home, Champions, where funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, June 21. Interment will follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery, Houston.
