Eugene Philip Mailloux, age 87, passed away peacefully at home into Heaven on
December 26, 2013 from complications of Parkinson's Disease. "Gene", as he liked to be called, was born in Fowler, Indiana on August 1, 1926, the 9th of 11 children of Ida and Philip Mailloux. He joined the army
right after graduating from high school, and served in occupied Japan. He was hired by Missouri Pacific Railroad as a
Communications Engineer, where he worked until his retirement in 1984. Our Dad was the kind of man who was never too busy to help one of us with advice, or hands-on help on fixing just about anything. He and our Mom also had a love of travel. He is survived by his precious wife of 62 years, Helen. He is also survived by his brother Paul Mailloux(Mary Lu); his 5 children: Cynthia Merryman(Jim); Gene Mailloux; Mary Helen Kruppa(Dan); Paul Mailloux(Shannon); and Janette Mailloux. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Paul Merryman, Lisa Johnson, Philip Mailloux, Rachel Mailloux, Andrew Merryman, Tommy Kruppa, Sam Kruppa, James Merryman, Mackenzie Mailloux, and Taylor Mailloux.
There will be a memorial mass at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, TX 77079 on Saturday, January 11th, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to National Parkinson Foundation, CAP, or the ARC Spring Branch Memorial. Thanks to all of his many caregivers over the past few years: especially Harold Escoban, and thanks also to Buckner Hospice and Always Best Care. Visit www.DettlingFuneral.com
