Haig Selian, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 5, 2013 at his home in Houston, Texas.
Haig was born April 14, 1929, in Flushing, New York. He was the only child of Adam and Mary Selian and grew up in Flushing, NY. He received a degree in Architecture from the University of Florida
and also served as a Medic in a MASH unit in the Korean War
. He married Elaine Mary Bunyan on June 1, 1958. They had four children whom they raised in Port Washington, NY and New Canaan; CT. Haig enjoyed a successful career as an architect, designing corporate interiors for numerous Fortune 500 companies. His prior residence was in Naples, Florida. He was an avid tennis player for most of his life. He loved to read, work crossword puzzles and was a talented artist. He served as a volunteer for stroke support groups in honor of his wife Elaine.
Haig was preceded in death by his wife Elaine. He is survived by his four children and their spouses: Jeanne and Jay Schlitt of Magnolia, TX; Paul and Maria Selian of Concord, MA; Robert and Joan Selian of New Haven CT; and Denise and Tony Manocchio of Houston, TX. He was blessed to have nine grandchildren: Christopher, Melissa, Michelle, Ned, TJ, Anna, Monica, Victoria, and Andrew.
Visitation will be Monday, April 15, 2013 from 9:30 am - 10:00 am at St Michael's Catholic Church, 1801 Sage, Houston, 77056 with the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 am.
