Harold Biggers

Harold Lloyd Biggers, wonderful husband and father, resident of Waterwood, Texas and retired insurance executive. Harold went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2013. After a long battle with Myelofibrosis, he succumbed suddenly to cardiac arrest. He was born on November 11, 1934, in Dallas, Texas to Robert Biggers and Virgie (Storey) Biggers.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Clifford. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Jean Elizabeth; son, Douglas Lee (wife Cristina and step daughter Andrea Muniz) of Houston; daughter Debra Elaine Love (husband William) of Houston; brother Robert Eugene (wife Delphia of Lubbock, Texas; sister Virginia Ann Richards (husband Rueben) of Athens, Texas; sisters-in-law, Mildred Kennedy of Plano, Texas, Dorothy VanZandt of Dallas, Texas and many nephews and nieces. He began his long and successful insurance career starting as a clerk in the mail room of regional marine general agency in Dallas, Texas. Harold joined the Army in 1957 and upon the completion of his military service resumed his insurance career which eventually lead him to Houston. There he was fortunate to meet and work for Drew Farmer, then insurance manager of Brown and Root. His hard work and training led to the position of manager of insurance for M.W. Kellogg Company and then to Highlands Insurance Company where he retired as Vice President. After Highlands, Harold was employed by Peter Barbara and Associates, insurance brokerage, his last employment in the insurance industry. In his retirement Harold enjoyed playing golf and also donated his time to the Huntsville library and Meals on Wheels. At Harold's and Jean's request there will only be a private service.
