John Curtis

John C. Curtis, M.D., F.A.C.P., Memorial services for John C. Curtis, M.D., F.A.C.P., 81, of Temple will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Ridge Adams officiating. Entombment will be at Bellwood Memorial Park.
Dr. Curtis died Friday at his residence.
Dr. Curtis was born in Negreet, Louisiana to Alvin Curtis and Myrtle Wright Curtis. He served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Louisiana State University. He married Jeannine Boisvert in 1956. She preceded him in death in 2011. He operated Houston Pediatrics, which is now part of Texas Children's Hospital. He was a member of Texas Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society, Texas Pediatrics Association, was on the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine and Houston Men's Garden Club. He moved to Temple in 1997 and was a member of Bell Co. Master Gardeners Association and a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Dr. Curtis was also preceded in death by one son John Curtis Jr. Survivors include his daughter Julie Curtis-Win of Temple; his son Kenneth Curtis of Houston; two brothers Wilbert Curtis of DeRidder, La and Doug Curtis of Many, La.; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Campus Fund of Memorial Baptist Church 6161 S 5th St. Temple, TX 76502.
Visitation will be from 12Noon to 1 P.M. Tuesday at Memorial Baptist Church.
