Katharine Langdon Warren Kearney, died at age 92, on April 28, 2013, surrounded by family at her home in Brookshire, TX.
She was born on January 12, 1921 in Dallas, TX to Katharine Ross and Young Mitchell Langdon. Katharine attended Hollins College and then the University of Texas
in Austin where she met Brent Warren. They married in 1942 in Denver, CO. In 1945 they moved to Houston where they built a home and lived a busy life with friends and family until his death in 1987. In 1995, she married Raymond Kearney, an old high school friend, who also preceded her in death in 2001. She lived at 2506 Avalon, Houston, TX for over fifty years before relocating with three of her children to Brookshire, Texas.
With a bright smile, a quick wit, and an always positive attitude, Katharine gave of her time to her children and numerous community organizations. She played bridge once a week, belonged to a number of dance clubs and over the years was an active member in many social and community service organizations: Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, The Assistance League of Houston, Friends of the Houston Zoo, The Girl Scouts of America, River Oaks Country Club, The Late Bloomers Garden Club, and The Galveston Historic Society.
Katharine is the much loved Mother of five surviving children: Kay Kopycinski and husband Vic Kopycinski, of Brookshire, TX; Brent Warren, Jr. and wife Mary Warren of Brookshire; Kerry Goldsmith and husband Dan Goldsmith of Weatherford, TX; Alba Warren of Brookshire; and Sally Zepponi and husband Frank Zepponi of Austin, TX. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Warren Balzer, Polly Balzer, Tracy Ryan, Brent Warren III, Wendy Ingrum, Suzy SeraJose, Anna Zepponi, Claire Zepponi; nine great grandchildren: Owen Balzer, Emme Balzer, Sean Ryan, Lilly Warren, Charles Brent Warren, Katy Warren, Danny Ingrum, Amber Ingrum, Julian SeraJose; and two nephews: Lester Langdon, and Bert Langdon, both of Houston and sons of Katharine's late brother William Langdon.
