Lawrence J. Schulte Jr. , died Tuesday, October 29 2013 at his home in The Woodlands, Texas. He was born in East Hampton, NY on August 24, 1929. Lawrence was graduated from East Hampton High School, The New York State Institute of Applied Arts & Sciences and New York University
where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree, was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma (National Honorary Society) and received New York University's "Founders Day Award" for outstanding scholarship. Lawrence served with the U.S. Army
in Europe during the Korean War
, assigned to Detachment "M", Office of the Assistant chief of Staff, G-2 the Pentagon.
In 1955, Lawrence married Mildred Henriksen of Brooklyn, N.Y. They met at Dun & Bradstreet where they were both employed. In 1959, Lawrence joined the employ of Shell Oil Company. Shell transferred the Schulte's to Houston in February, 1970. Lawrence remained employed by Shell until 1986 whereupon he retired and moved with his wife to The Woodlands, Texas.
Lawrence is survived by his wife Mildred and five children, three daughters (Jeri of The Woodlands, Texas, Jean (Williams) of The Woodlands, Texas and Janet (Bradley) of Spring, Texas) and two sons (James of Magnolia, Texas and John of Cypress, Texas). He also leaves behind ten grandchildren.
A Funeral liturgy will be held at 10:30am on Monday, November 4, 2013 at St. Edwards Catholic church, 2601 Spring Stuebner, Spring, Texas, 77379. Interment with military honors will occur in two weeks at Klein Memorial Park Cemetery in Tomball, Texas.
