Malcom Louie Barneycastle

Malcom Louie Barneycastle passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Louie was born in Livingston, Texas, on April 30, 1940. He grew up in Holly Grove, Texas, and later lived in Liberty, Texas, where he met his wife of 44 years, Melinda Stanzel Barneycastle. Louie served his country as an MP in the U.S. Army in Germany in the 1960s. He studied at the University of Houston, achieving a degree in Electrical Electronics before beginning work at Digicon Corporation. Later in life, Louie continued serving his community as a high school teacher in the Aldine school district and at Lone Star College, North Harris Campus, teaching math for 17 years.
Louie was a kind, gentle soul who dearly loved his family and friends. He enjoyed travelling with Melinda around the world as well as evening walks with his loyal black lab, Otis, and fishing trips with friends. His selfless love for his family and friends will be missed tremendously.
Louie is survived by wife, Melinda Stanzel Barneycastle, daughters Amanda Owen and Sarah Burdett, grandchildren Austin and Hunter Owen and Bryn Burdett, and sons-in-law Michael Owen and Jeff Burdett. He loved his brother-in-law, Chris Stanzel, nephew, Roggan, nieces, Calan and Aspen, sister-in-law, Clarissa Griffin and numerous relatives.
Visitation will be Monday, December 10, from 5:30-7:30pm at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble, TX, and a Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 11, at 10:00am at St. Mary Magdalene in Humble, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Malcom Louie Barneycastle to the .
