Marlene Friedman

Marlene Friedman, passed away peacefully Sunday June 8, 2014. She was born October 11, 1932 in Houston, Texas to Gus Roth and Rhea Davidson Roth. After graduating from San Jacinto High School, Marlene attended the University of Texas. Marlene met the love of her life, Monte Friedman in 1951 and after a ten year courtship they married in 1961. Their inseparable union was one of love, devotion, and trust. Together they raised three children who are forever grateful and indebted to them for the guidance they gave, the principles they instilled and the love they showered upon them. Marlene was the consummate daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. She revered her parents, gushed over her grandchildren and treated all people with dignity, love and respect. Marlene only saw and spoke of the good in everyone she knew. She considered everyone she knew as family. Marlene was preceded in death by her loving husband Monte Friedman, parents Gus and Rhea Roth, sisters Shirley Feinstein and Harriette Roth. She is survived by her son Reid Friedman and wife Anissa; her daughter Hayley Friedman Miller and husband Michael; her daughter Kimberly Friedman Glover; and beloved grandchildren Bergen, Mattox and Luke Friedman; Arianna and Mason Miller; and Meagan, Shelby and Garrett Glover as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Feinstein, Michael Feinstein, Stephen Feinstein, Scott Newar, Frank Karkowsky, Todd Riff, Gregg Sheena and Michael Sonsino. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon in the Freedman/Levit Sanctuary at, Congregation Beth Yeshurun, 4525 Beechnut, Houston, Texas 77096.
