Mary Ann Boyd

Mary Ann Kinnebrew Boyd passed away May 13, 2013 after a year long struggle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence A. ("Larry") Boyd, her brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Mary Jane Kinnebrew, her niece and her husband, Jill and George Dietrich and her nephew and his wife, David and Leigh Kinnebrew. Mary Ann was born and reared in Beaumont, Texas where she attended Lamar University. She then attended Rice University where she earned her M.A. She taught English at University of Texas at Arlington, Lake Highlands High School in the Richardson I.S.D. and Northbrook High School in the Spring Branch I.S.D. While teaching at Northbrook, Mary Ann attended law school at University of Houston Law Center in the night program, eventually earning a J.D. She practiced law with the firm of Saccomanno & Clegg for ten years.
After retirement Mary Ann enjoyed life as a volunteer. She was an active member of the Lady Washington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Altar Guild of Christ Church Cathedral, and the Bayou Bend Docent Organizaiton. Mary Ann also enjoyed activities with her Alpha Chi Omega sorority sisters. In lieu of the usual remembrances, the family suggests a donation to the Christ Church Endowment Fund or the Memorial Park Conservancy. The funeral is scheduled for May 25th @ 12:00PM in the sacristy of Christ Church Cathedral followed by a reception in Latham Auditorium at Christ Church, 1117 Texas Avenue, Houston, TX.
