Ralph Eichhorn Obituary
Eichhorn passed away on April 27. 2014. Dr. Eichhorn was born on September 15, 1917 to Hermann Eichhorn and Carolina Pagel. He attended the Ethical Culture Society School of New York City and graduated Valedictorian from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He attended NYU Medical School just prior to enlisting in the Navy in World War II. He served on multiple amphibious landings including Guam where he took care of patients on a beachhead for 72 straight hours and won a commendation. After the War, he married Fredell Lack, a noted concert artist and Violinist. They lived happily together for 68 years. He was Chief of Gastroenterology at Baylor College of Medicine and an early partner at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic where he practiced for over 25 years. He was a founder of the Amigos de las Americas and a strong supporter of Animal protection organizations. He is survived by his wife Fredell and children, Ardis Eichhorn of Houston and Dr Eric Eichhorn of Dallas, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Services will be held at Emanu El Cemetary on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 2 PM.
