Richard Bleiler

Richard Jeffery Bleiler , 56, passed away November 26, 2012 in Houston, Texas. He was born July 28, 1956 in Mexico City, Mexico. He moved to Houston, TX when he was 13 years old. He was an Eagle Scout. Richard graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas. He worked as a project manager for Invensys Operations Management. Richard and Alece met at the University of Texas in Austin on Halloween 1980. Richard and Alece married in 1984, and have lived in Houston ever since. Richard has had many accomplishments over his life,two in which are national championships. While attending Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, Texas he won a NAIA Football National Championship. Then while at the University at Texas he won a team powerlifting National Championship. On top of those accomplishments he enjoyed many things. He loved to fish; he always said "a bad day fishing was better than a good day of work." He enjoyed working with his hands. He would spend hours in the garage or his workshop building things or repairing things around the house.He enjoyed nature. He would spend time outside in the garden planting vegetables, herbs and fruit. He loved animals so much, one time years ago he snuck a turtle on the airplane to bring it back to Houston. He also enjoyed coaching. He spent many years coaching his sons in baseball and football. His biggest love of all though was family. He loved his wife, and sons so much. He was a very caring man. He was so helpful and kind. He did so much for his family and friends to help them when they needed it. Richard is survived by his wife Alece Bleiler, his sons Jared and fiancée Erin Silverman, Seth and girlfriend Meredith Reckles and Aiden, his sister and brother-in-law Gretchen and Jim Wagner his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Siiri and Victor Corby, his nieces and nephews Donna & Scott Hellinga, Debbie and Mark Aiken, Arye and Skylar Corby, his great niece and nephew Abby and Karl Hellinga, his Uncle Robert Bleiler, and Aunt Jane and Sam Allen. A funeral service will be held Wednesday November 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at Emanu El Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet St, Houston, Texas. The family will receive visitors at the Bleiler home, after the service at 14003 Boerne Country Cypress, TX.
