Robert Bailey(1924 - 2012)

Robert Edward Bailey Robert Edward Bailey (Bob), 88, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012. Bob was born on November 6, 1924 in Refugio, Texas. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carroll Newport Bailey, who he missed dearly, his parents, Blanche and Arthur Bailey, his sister, Agnes Mae Skobarcek and his brothers, Jesse James Bailey and Joseph Henry Bailey. He is survived by his five children, John Joseph Bailey (Joe), Helen Kathleen Musselwhite (Kathy) and husband Jeff, Robert Jesse Bailey (Bobby), Susan Coffman (Suzy) and husband Chris, and Judith Berlinger (Karen) and husband Tim, and his three grandchildren, Emily Anne Calhoun and husband Clint, Sarah Courtney Berlinger and Carrolann Taylor Bailey. Bob proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy and frequently told stories of Admiral Nimitz and the Pacific War. He was a founding parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and member of the Knights of Columbus, New Generation Seniors of Mt. Carmel and the YMCA XYZ Club. Bob loved being a part of the Boy Scouts of American and received numerous awards including the Silver Beaver Award, District Award of Merit and Vigil Honor. Bob was retired from Continental Emsco where he worked for 36 years. He enjoyed worldwide traveling after his retirement and visited exotic and diverse locations such as Ireland, China, Peru and Africa. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Sunday, December 9, 2012, followed by the Praying of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 pm at Crespo Funeral Home, 4136 Broadway, Houston, Texas. A Catholic Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 6725 Reed Road, Houston, Texas.
