Terry Lee Baten McCutcheon

Terry Lee Baten McCutcheon Terry McCutcheon left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
Terry is survived by her loving husband Daniel Ward McCutcheon and two handsome adult sons, Cody Ward McCutcheon and Tyler Daniel McCutcheon; her sister Donna Kangieser, husband Bill, children Aaron, Arica, Austin; her brother Barry Baten; her mother and father-in-law Gloria and Clarence McCutcheon; her brother-in-law Mike McCutcheon; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Terry is predeceased by her mother Martha Lee Brown Roberson; her father Frank Adkins Baten Jr.; her grandmother Bessie Mac Brown.
Born in Bay City, Texas on December 27, 1961 she spent her youth growing up in Houston attending CyFair High School. Upon graduation, she attended The University of Texas at Austin. She and Danny married on August 14, 1982. Together, they raised two sons who loved to participate in different sports from early youth throughout high school, and Terry loved to watch them all. She adored being a mother, (it was her dream come true). You could count on her to be the Room Mom, Chaperone, Team Mom and Scorekeeper, all in the same day!
Terry loved to hang out with her many friends, whether it was playing cards or cooking. Entertaining guests in her home was her specialty; she was our "Southern Hostess". The combination of being a great cook and covering all of the details earned her the Martha Stewart of Sugar Land label.
In a competitive family she also exhibited a competitive side, especially in games of Bunco or at a slot machine. But perhaps her greatest victory came when she beat breast cancer. As a Cancer Survivor, she got involved with the Fort Bend Pink Ladies Golf Tournament, chairing it in some years. Her other charity and volunteer work included Fort Bend Child Advocacy and Fort Bend Educational Foundation Gala.
Terry held a deep faith and was very involved through the years with her church. She participated in Women of The Word bible studies and held many Sunday School teacher and leadership positions at Sugar Land Baptist Church, including leading on the church's very first Building Program. We celebrate her fifty-two years on this earth and the impact she made. She will be very missed by us all!
A memorial service was held at Sugar Land Baptist Church on March 20, 2014 with Pastor Phil Lineberger presiding. Donations can be made in Terry's name to Fort Bend CASA.
