Chollett, 84, of Columbus, Texas and formerly from the Houston, TX and Mentor, Ohio areas passed away on February 15, 2014 in Columbus. He dearly loved the Lord, his wife and family. His life was a shining example of the strong faith that it was based on. He had a servant's heart as shown in his commitment to his family, church and community. His greatest gift to his family was the faith he lived out through his everyday actions.
He was born on June 8, 1929 to Otto and Viola (Engels) Chollett in Columbus, TX. Weldon was a graduate of Columbus High School and the University of Texas in Austin. On November 17, 1951 he married Peggy J. Thomas.
Weldon worked for Lubrizol Corporation as a chemical engineer for 40 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus and formerly a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pasadena, TX, and Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor, OH, and a member of the Columbus Lions Club.
Weldon is survived by his daughter, Kay Wesson and husband Ken of Houston, TX; sons, Paul Chollett and wife Cheryl of Conroe, TX, and Mark Chollett and wife Heather of Chardon, OH; and nine grandchildren, Megan Karlsen and husband Bjorn, Kyle Wesson and fiancée Kathryn Carlson, Kelly Wesson, Cameron, Madi, Zac, Logan, Elise and Madeline Chollett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Peggy J. Chollett, and grandson, Matthew Chollett.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 21, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, 3:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus with Pastor John Hunsicker officiating.
Burial will take place in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus.
