William Maurice (Bill) Fruit, was born on the 26th of April 1948 in Edwardsville, Illinois and passed away on the 25th of October 2012 in Houston, Texas.
He graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1966 and attended Purdue University
where he graduated with a B.S. degree in 1970 and a Master's degree in 1972, both in Chemical Engineering. Bill joined Shell Oil Company in 1972, where he worked until his retirement in 2010.
Bill was an active member of Seventh Church of Christ, Scientist, where he served as treasurer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Kulp Fruit; and his two daughters, Amy Conley and her husband Jeff; Laura Guillory and her husband Brandon; two step-daughters, Laura Stone and her husband Brian; Emily Zawatsky and her husband Tim; two grandchildren, Dylan Thomas Conley and Molly Mae Guillory; one step-granddaughter Elliott Emily Stone; his sister Carolyn Neptune and her husband Harold; and many close, caring friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Ewing Fruit and Alyne Schmidt Fruit, and his beloved cocker spaniel, Frazier.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service in honor and remembrance of his life at eleven o'clock in the morning on Friday, the second of November, 2012, at Living Word Lutheran Church in Katy, TX.
