William Rios

William Alan Rios It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Alan Rios. Bill was born on April 2, 1954 in Columbus, Ohio to Major Albert and Olivia Rios of San Antonio, Tx. He died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, December 21st.
Bill was a graduate of Clear Creek High School and earned degrees in Biology from the University of Texas - Austin and and Computer Science from the University of Houston. For the past 10 years Bill has worked for JP Morgan Chase in their IT department as an Application Support Analyst.
Bill loved music, especially opera. He played baritone in the Texas marching band, supported the Houston Grand Opera and the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Bill was a creative artist and avid photographer. He loved traveling and was a devoted fan of the Houston Texans.
Bill is survived by his partner of 34 years, Dr. Andy Cook; his brothers, Ron Rios (Cyndy) and Tom Rios (Carol). He was deeply loved by his nephew, Austin Rios (Jill) and his niece, Amanda Rios Place (Brian) along with his great niece, Aja Rios and his great nephew, Alexander Place.
A memorial reception will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday 12/29 at Latham Auditorium at Christ Church Cathedral located at 1117 Texas Avenue in downtown Houston. Dress will be casual. The church parking garage entrance is on San Jacinto between Texas and Prairie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee (elephants.com).
Bill left us way too soon and will be terribly missed by his partner, his friends, and his family.
