Even after all these years, Dan Nickerson remains in my heart as one of my best co-workers & by far the best thing out of Texas, ever.

Dan was such a special and wonderful man, I hired him at APLA. I loved him so, after I left in 1989, whenever I was in LA, I would visit him at work-I had a dream last night about him-it was nice to see him one last time ....

Dan was a co-worker of mine at AIDS Project Los Angeles from 1988-1991 and I will never forget him. He was an exceptionally skilled case manager and a great co-worker. We shared so many powerful experiences, both as colleagues and as friends. I loved his wicked humor, his professionalism, and his Texas Twang. (I can hear it now!)Also, the way in which he cared for Phil was an example of compassion that was beyond admirable. The world lost a good soul, who will not be forgotten.

Danny was in choir with me in school and in church. He was a kind, caring, and fun to be with friend. I remember going to see him in the hospital while I was student teaching. He had been in a terrible car accident where he had been thrown through the dashboard. It was a miracle he survived. We visited over an hour while our moms visited. I started feeling warm so I stepped out into the hallway for some air. I hadn't had much breakfast so I fainted dead as a doornail. It was kind of funny ,his Mom had said, "I wish you could meet his plastic surgeon. He is so nice and so handsome..." Well, I did meet him after all. I needed 14 stitches in my face. It probably broke Danny's heart. He was such a great guy with the most amazing smile. He is a gentle spirit that will be truly missed, but never forgotten. We love you Danny. God bless your loved ones and friends who are feeling such sadness at your loss. Rest in peace my friend.

Danny was such a close friend since, well, since I can remember. Our families have been friends forever and we used to go camping every summer in Huntsville. I can remember getting into so much mischief with him and his dad calling us a pair of ox, LOL! He never failed to make me laugh and would do anything for me. The one request he never granted, though, was coming home when he moved to CA. I missed him sorely and loved him like a brother. Danny, RIP, my friend. I will see you again.

Danny was my dear and close friend through our high school and college years. He was one of my favorite people to be with and he ALWAYS made me laugh. His energy and enormous sense of humor drew you to him. I am blessed to have had him as my friend and will miss him terribly.

Danny was my best friend in high school and college. His unique personality and sense of humor let him get away things others couldn't. His humor wasn't just saying funny things, he also did unexpected things. I remember in high school when Coach Tessman yelled at him in health class, "NICKERSON!" and Danny yelled back, "TESSMAN!". The class laughed. We've all wanted to do something like that, but would be afraid of the consequences. Danny did it and he got off with a slight reprimand. "That's just Danny" was the usual response when he did something unexpected.
He was a great friend and I will greatly miss him.

Our earliest memory of Danny was on September 26, 1958 at our wedding. He was a curly headed toddler. Our families used to go camping with the Earl Calhouns and the Buddy Nickersons. Those were happy days and we will always have happy memories of Danny and his family. God bless them all, especially Viola.
