I miss you still -especially our friendship and regularly spending time together.

As a baby attorney I met you when you were a new Judge.

I was able to spend more precious time with you during the last days of your life after you regrettably left the bench due to your health and recent loss of your sister.

You helped my son Justice in the early morning with his religion course during Junior High at Trinity on your short watch regarding his young development.

You quickly became our beloved family member and I will always treasure the sweet memories. ❤

Dear ROSIE, Although I have not seen you in 20 years , I often though of you. You made the days at the District ATTORNEY'S OFFICE Domestic Violence Unit worth will. Your love for children and Women of Domestic Violece will never be forgotten.

Dearest Rosie,
I treasure the memories of our childhood antics. They were the most wonderful carefree days ever without a worry. We would roam free in safety and played to our hearts content till the sun set. I feel so fortunate to have shared our early formative years as playmates and later-- those special occasions--as women sharing the commonality of love and concern for la “familia”. We all admired and were certainly proud of your extraordinary beauty, talents, the love you shared, and impressive achievements. We will miss you. May the peace of the Lord Jesus be with you now and forever. Much Love—Liz

What a kind, caring and lovely human being you were. Of course you were smart and accomplished much, but above all I will remember you as someone that cared and worked hard to make the world better. Rest in peace. Fortunato P. Benavides

Beautiful, compassionate, loving, and brilliant; you were all these things and more when I knew you. How I miss you and regret that I allowed too much time to come between us. Rest in peace my friend.

Rosemary, I will miss confiding in you because I knew that you were so trustworthy especially about matters of the heart. Thank you for all the moments we shared during the last part of your life and for being there for my son and I through his trying junior high years. I know that you suffered tremendously with pain and especially with the heartache of losing others in this life but I know that you are now at peace, a peace that passes all understanding. You are a beautiful soul of great faith and I am so glad that our paths crossed even if only for a short while on earth.

Rosemary, it seems almost yesterday that we were first year law students. Our study group burned the midnight oil trying to make sense of contracts, torts and the other mysteries of the law. Regardless of how hard it seemed you were always the most confident of us all. You always knew that we'd make it through. May you rest in peace.

Rose Mary, my first roommate when I came to Houston, Texas! What a funny, kind, brilliant lady you were. You always wanted to become a successful lawyer and judge. From what I hear, you became all that you wanted to be! Now you are sitting with our Lord and Savior and Judge of us all! Peace be with you.

Rosemary,
You were my first mentor at the DA's Office. You are one of the kindest, gentlest, conscientious, and most decent souls I've ever met. I cherished your friendship. You will suffer no more. I know that you are looking over us and guiding us. I pray that we are able to live up to the example that you lived for us.
Your friend,
Randy

Dearest Rosemary, you left too soon. I will miss you and I feel badly that you are gone. I liked to be around you because you always appeared to be so sure of yourself. I guess that's another way to say that I admired you. Those of us who knew you are blessed that we crossed your path.

I've sat in my garden at sunrise several times this week and thought of my friend whom I met when she started law school; of our shared laughter and adventures, shared meals and over the years many shared glasses of wine. She was humorous, feisty to a fault sometimes, fiercely independent but above all she had a generous heart as big as the day is long. She would have enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of my garden. And I shall miss sharing it with her.

Judge Garza was a great leader, mentor, advocate and friend to many. She was a trail blazer as an attorney and judge who paved the path for many to follow. Her radiant smile and warm heart will be missed. God bless you my friend.
