"Ben" and I were friends when stationed at Eglin AFB, and both Lay Readers at St. Simons, Ft. Walton. We struggled and prayed together over whether to sta in the AF or go to seminary. In the Fall of '56, Ben went to Sewanee, and I went to Japan. --

Dear Benitez family, I am mourning the loss of your wonderful father, and remembering the years that you all were here with us in Ocala. You lived just up the street from us and Jennifer and Dru were special friends. Prayers are being offered for all of you. Love........Rosemary Greene

Ben was an amazing man of God. I had the good fortune to belong to Christ Church in San Antonio during my formative years, and to be married by him there in 1974. My husband and I will never forget our pre-marital counseling session with him... And yes, we are still married! We had the joy of baptizing both of our children while he was at St. John's. And then he graciously came out of retirement to marry our daughter at St. Martin's. Often questioned about how we got Ben to do that, the answer was simple. "I asked." He has been a part of our lives at many joyful events and his memory will live on always. Love to his family as they grieve his passing, but what amazing memories you must have. Godspeed to Ben and love to all of his heirs.

Fr Ben became an indelible part of the history of Grace Church and Ocala. He was not only my rector but a close personal friend and we stayed in touch with each other until he entered the assisted living facility.
What a great man....a true Disciple of Christ. I loved him, Joanne and his girls who were little when they moved from Ocala.
Our ranks haved thinned markedly since he left here but anyone who knew him back into the 60's still has strong and unique memories of him.
Our love and heartfelt sympathy goes to the wonderful Benitez girls

You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
We loved Ben so much and we have been remembering and pondering how much he meant to our spiritual lives....
We will miss his visits to Christ Church.
We couldn't come to Austin today due to prior commitments as well as the fact that I recently had surgery, so please know that we are thinking of you all at this time.
Love and Blessings,
