Bill was a wonderful friend. He was always ready to greet you with a warm smile and word of encouragement. I will miss him, but praise God, because of our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will meet again.

Dear Maris, Joyce and I just returned from our Christmas vacation in Tennessee making us late in learning of Bill's passing. It was such a pleasure to see Bill at the Sigma Chi reunion in October, 2010. We enjoyed talking about our family histories and I was very proud to find out that we were cousins (double 1st cousins four generations removed). We will pray for you and your family, particularily that the Holy Spirit will give you comfort in this difficult time. God Bless you. Jack and Joyce Cockerham

I have known Bill for more than 50 years, as a fraternity brother in our local chapter of Kappa Phi at Lamar and as a charter member when we were initiated as charter members of Sigma Chi in 1961. He became my insurance and investment counselor after I moved to Houston and later after I married and had children. Bill was never one to be bashful, nor was he one to wait for something to happen. He was a man of action and a man of his word. Many times he met with my wife and I to discuss our investments. He came to our house in Spring on numerous ocassions. We learned to love him, not only as a true fraternity brother, but a very dependable adviser and a true friend. Bill Tarver, "All Honor to Your Name"!! In Hoc Signo Vinces.
