Brad Wilder Obituary

Brad Michael Wilder
1973-2016
Brad Michael Wilder, an attorney and long-time resident of Houston, TX, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016.
Those who knew Brad will agree that they were blessed to know him. He was the "glue" among his family and friends, whose charisma, self-deprecating humor, and fast wit made him a welcome presence. There was never any pretense with Brad, despite his intellect and accomplishments. He would routinely reject a handshake and give a bear hug instead. Indeed, as you read this, he's hugging someone in heaven.
Brad never met a stranger and had a gift for putting people at ease. He used his intelligence to give the gift of laughter. If there was ever an awkward moment, Brad would fill it with the levity of a hilarious response, onto which everyone else would pile. He was a sweet and gentle soul and as kind as anyone you would know. Brad worked hard to form close relationships with everyone. Many lasting friendships were formed among Brad's family and friends due to his insistence that all be included.
Brad was a deeply devoted father. His four children brought him so much joy and were his most treasured blessings. He loved spending time with them, whether it be coaching their teams, being a Den Leader, or spending time hunting and fishing. He simply loved being near them. Brad was also a deeply devoted friend. Those fortunate enough to have known him understand the depth of his friendship. No matter how busy his schedule, Brad always had time to comfort a friend. Somehow he could make you laugh while comforting you in your darkest hour. He will be deeply missed.
Brad was born in Dallas, Texas on March 12, 1973. He graduated from De Soto High School in 1991 and went on to college at Midwestern State University, where he played football. He later transferred to Southwest Texas State University and graduated in 1995. Brad spent the next three years at South Texas College of Law, where he made many lifelong friends. He graduated from law school in 1999.
Brad immediately went to work with the law firm of Hoover, Bax & Slovacek, LLP, where he quickly proved himself to be a shining star. After several years there, he made the move to work as in-house legal counsel with NCI Building Systems and later, Integrated Electrical Services. Brad eventually made his way back into private practice focusing on civil and commercial litigation.
Brad is survived by his four beautiful children, Braden (11), Madelyn (10), Marlee (7), and Megan (3); his brothers, Bryan and Brett Wilder and their families; and his father, Weyland Wilder. He is preceded in death by his mother, Janet Marie Wilder.
A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. (Central) on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Addison Funeral Home, 18630 Kuykendahl Road, Spring Texas, 77379.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an account at Bank of America set up for the benefit of Brad's children. If you are able to donate, please reference account number 4880 6408 2725 titled "Brett Wilder dba Wilder Kids."

Wilder Family, I will always have amazing memories of Brad. All the laughs over the years, crazy traditions (pink shirts for losing at golf), and hours of poker and trash talking. I'll always remember his smile and ability to make everyone smile!

I had the privilege of knowing Brad from the very first day he joined NCI Building Systems, where I worked at the time. We worked together often on various matters. I also played golf with Brad on multiple occasions. Brad had a great sense of humor, and he truly cared about others. I can honestly say that I am blessed for having known him. I worked at NCI with Brett also. I am deeply saddened by this tragic event. I pray that God will grant peace and comfort to Brad's friends, his children, and the rest of his family. I also praise God for the gift of memories. Memories are what we are left with, but I look forward to the day that I will see Brad again, in a much better place that is free of suffering and hardship. One day my friend, I will see you again!

Brad
Was a great friend and a wonderful person, he always was talking about his children and how he missed being with them all the time.
He always looked forward to having them, I had the pleasure and honor to meet all 4 of them just weeks ago, he even purchased brodie not only to keep him in check but so his children had the enjoyment while he had his children. We planned some golf trips and we argued who would beat who, he was a class act and a person I will miss forever.
Brad tee them high and let them fly in heaven.
Your Friend Jimmy
