Douglas Stockton Obituary

Surrounded by his loving family, Douglas Edward Stockton, Jr. walked into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on July 7th, 2012 at 2:00 a.m. after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.
Doug was born January 12, 1948 in Corpus Christi to Douglas Edward Stockton and Barbara Sims Stockton. He graduated from Ray High School in Corpus Christi. Doug received his general engineering degree from The United States Military Academy at West Point, an MBA from Georgia State University and a law degree from The University of Houston. Doug worked in various energy companies in Houston during his career. He most enjoyed working for Bob McNair at Cogen Technologies and for the past several years with Fred Barber and the entire group at Power Plant Management Services. The love and support of his many friends from these companies gave Doug tremendous strength during his illness. His family is most grateful for their support. Doug was a proud American and was honored to have served his country in the United States Army. His West Point Band of Brothers will always be the brothers of his heart.
Doug is survived by his wife of 32 years, Merrilynn Miller Stockton and his children Zack Stockton, Katie Stockton and Jenny Stockton. In addition he leaves behind his father Sport Stockton, brother David Stockton and sister Linda Kinde, their spouses and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Doug was predeceased by his mother Bobby Stockton and his son Trey Stockton.
A memorial service will be held on Thurs. July 12, 2012 at St. Peter's UMC Katy at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Peter's UMC Katy, Texas building fund in Doug's memory.
