EUELLE SCROGGINS Obituary
Retired SIU Seafarer, caring husband, father, grandfather and friend he fought valiantly to the end. We were blessed to have been at his bedside holding his hands and praying over him as he passed away peacefully to be with God.
Services are on Sat. Jan. 7, 2012 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church 9900 Stella Link Houston, TX. The Rosary will be said at 1:15 p.m. & Mass at 2:00 p.m.

Hey Daddy - Super Bowl 47 ended with the Ravens on top, 34-31, beating the 49'ers. It was a pretty good game I guess. The game was interrupted by a power outage that lasted about 35 minutes or so. That had to be an NFL first.

Hey Daddy - Super Bowl 47 will be the Ravens and the 49'ers. Was happy the Ravens beat the Patriots in the AFC Championship, but for the Super Bowl, I'll be pulling for the 49'ers. The Pro Bowl is next weekend. I'll be watching the games... thinking of and missing you.

Thank you Pete for allowing me to be a full member of your family. I promise to cherish the greatest gift ever given me (Mark) all the days of my life.
And we will do everything necessary to make sure Maggie's remaining years will be as full and wonderful as we can make them. Just keep a vigil next to us and prod when necessary if we seem off track.

Thank you, Uncle Pete for taking me under your wing that time in Vegas when you showed me the ropes, guided me through some good games and eased the pain of missing out on ten grand by a hair. Playing the Parlay wasn't the only thing you taught me on that trip.

Daddy, I love you so much, things come up and I immediately think to call my father for advice and then realize you're no longer in this world. I'm so afraid sometimes, I pray that I will do the right things and you will help guide my decisions. I pray the rosary nightly hoping God will guide me as well. I look for signs from you. I didnt get the chance to meet Mr. Pete but it felt like I knew him through Suzie. I always heard how he was a giving, loving, and thoughtful person. I could tell how much he was loved by his family and how he passed his love and kindness to Suzie. That in itself made him a great man to see what he has passed on to his children. There are not many people in this world that are worth meeting but Mr. Pete sure was one person that people were blessed to have known.

but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.

I knew Pete Scroggins as a brave & tough man, when even in sickness would not want anyone to worry about him. The few moments that I shared with him were enlightening and always left me wishing that I had known him longer. I am very sure that he loved Mrs. Scroggins, Suzie & family dearly and will always be watching over them as he did without any complaints. He welcomed Glen as one of his own sons and they shared a great bond until the end... My deepest sympathy for yalls loss. Lots of love for you Suzie & Glen. Praying that all will be well. Pete will be missed, but not forgotten!

Pete had one of the most loving and caring personalities of anyone I have ever met. He always had the best words to cheer anyone up no matter the circumstances. Although in a better place watching over Maggie, Scott, Mark, Suzie and everyone he leaves behind, he will be greatly missed.

Good-bye Pete, the greatest friend & father-in-law. You were an inspirational man in my life. You are one of the most generous... do anything for anyone, person that I've known. I was so proud to have been a part of your life. I loved helping you with things and listening to your stories of your great adventures at sea. I wish we could have been young together and have worked together as shipmates or firemen. You would have been a great fireman... but as great as that would have been, then I would not have had Suzie as my wife. She is the most wonderful part of my life.
