Howard Arendt

Howard Emerson Arendt, 84, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in the presence of his family. He was one of three children born to Edward and Florence Arendt in New Rochelle, NY. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother John Arendt and survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Joan Arendt, brother Eddie Arendt, Jack Richards, son Howard Arendt, daughters Jennifer (John) Conine and Jean Marie (Danny Wayne) Laird, grandchildren Chelsea Arendt, Malachai Arendt, Kayla Garcia, Erin and Shannon Conine and countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Howie proudly served in the US Coast Guard where he toured in the Arctic Circle. He was a retired Mechanical Engineer from both Foster Wheeler and Stone & Webster. His career allowed him and his family to travel around the world. He not only took pride in his work, but truly relished the friends he made during his time in business. In retirement, he spent his time as an active member at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, working in his garden, and focused towards his family. Howie was known for his ingenuity and willingness to help others. He was involved in many societies and organizations, but most notably he was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus where he met some of his closest friends.
A one hour viewing will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 10:30am with the funeral mass immediately afterwards. Howard will be buried at the US Houston National Cemetery.
