Jon David Jones
Born August 28, 1940 in Houston, Texas, son of B.B. Jones (Beulah Beatrice) and Solomon Bramlett Jones, died in Point Arena, California on July 25, 2012, of kidney cancer. Known to his family and friends in Texas as David and Jon David and to his California friends as Texas Jon and Texas. He was a man who lived life large: banker, folk singer-song writer, accomplished banjo player and guitarist, resident folk singer of The Jester, formed and lead "Traveler" acoustic band in Houston, "Picker Poet" concert producer, the last Cadet Don on Houston's Channel 13 (KTRK), SCCA racing driver, professional actor, voracious reader, marathon runner, counselor to delinquent adolescent boys, social activist, and psychotherapist.
David is survived by his sister Jo Anna McKinney and her husband Jim and their family, his children, Josh Jones (Sage Baker), Jason Jones (Mary Helen Jacobus), Trina Je' Jones (Christine Marsteller), and Renee' Lemmel, his three granddaughters, Eliza, Rainer, and Brandy, and his ex-wives Cis Dickson, Trina Jones Stanfield, and Claire Lemmel. He leaves his last love, Anne Kessler, pastel artist, in Point Arena and many family members in Houston, Texas and DeRidder, Louisiana. He will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends.
