1935-2016
Lisa Gaye Ware, 1935 - 2016, went to be with The Lord July 14, 2016 in Houston at the age of 81. She was born as Leslie Gaye Griffin in Denver, Colorado on March 6, 1935. She became Lisa Gaye Ware when she married Bentley Clyde Ware who predeceased her. She had a brilliant career as a dancer and actress under the stage name of Lisa Gaye in films such as "Rock Around the Clock", "Shake, Rattle, & Roll", and "Drums Across the River" and television shows such as "Get Smart", "I Dream of Jeannie", "Wagon Train", "Perry Mason", "The Bob Cummings Show", "Wild Wild West", "The Flying Nun" and as Gwen Kirby in "How to Marry a Millionaire" as well as multiple television shows from the 1950's - 1960's. She retired from the public eye in 1970 to raise her daughter and to begin focusing on her devotion to her Lord Jesus Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Janell; by her many grandchildren; by her sister Debra K'ung (Debra Paget) & her son; and her brother Frank Henry Griffin Jr. & his children, his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren; & by her sister Teala Griffin Pickler's (Teala Loring's) children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. Her remains will be placed at the Houston National Cemetery. She is in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A Bible Verse from Lisa to you – (John 3:16) "For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life."

I went to Horace Mann Grammar School with Leslie Gaye and I have a class photo of that graduating class of naive young kids in Beverly Hills, CA, and then, she was gone from my life. She was a beautiful, sweet and "grown up" little girl whom I knew, like I knew all the others. We had such a long way to go, but I always remember her and her (already) famous older sister, Debra Paget, who was a real movie star.
All those years, so many lives from Beverly Hills to New York and the God given boon of looking back and remember Leslie Gaye, a star fell from the firmament and sparkled next to me for a short time -- and I never forgot it. May you have Eternal Rest in Paradise.

I am watching an episode of Perry Mason and I saw this beautiful young lady and had to find out who she was. I saw how much she has accomplished, along with coming from a talented family, including her beautiful sister, Debra Paget. May Lisa Rest In Peace.
