Riva Kremer

RIVA KREMER, beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the age of 100, the oldest living Holocaust survivor in Houston. Riva was born on August 12, 1906 in Bialystok, Poland. She, along with her daughter, Linda Penn, endured the horrors of the Holocaust experiencing stays in concentration camps including Treblinka where she lost her husband and son, Majdanek, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Trawniki, Bergen-Belsen and Theresienstadt. They also endured the Grodno, Poland Ghetto and the Death March. With courage, strength and faith, Riva and Linda came to New York in 1950. Riva joined Linda and her family in Houston in 1965. Riva was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Penn. She is survived by her son-in-law, Morris I. Penn; grandson Hyman Penn and his wife Lynn Gordon; grandson Robert Penn and his wife Pam; granddaughter Cynthia Weinberger and her husband Barry; great grandchildren Melanie and Lauren Weinberger and Jordan and Jamie Penn.
