Dr. William H. Tonking, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the age of 86. William graduated from Princeton University in 1952 with a doctorate in geology and worked in the mining, oil and gas industry for 40 years.

William leaves behind his loving wife Edith, as well as two children, Lisbeth Grundy with husband Michael, son Randy Tonking along with two grandchildren, Blaine and Reid Tonking, and a beautiful great grand-daughter, Greylin Tonking. His family will miss the treasured times spent together as well as his wit and wisdom. He was a wonderful husband and father who shared a beautiful life with his devoted wife of nearly 50 years. William will be remembered for his commitment to family, the value he placed on education for his children and life-long friendships. The family wishes to express special thanks to his good friend Jeremy Brown, who was always there by his side.
A private gathering of family and friends will be held at a future date. Memorial donations to Alzheimer's research or the Wounded Warrior project are encouraged.
