CATHERINE ANN (STEGEMEIER) LUYCKX Catherine Ann (Stegemeier) Luyckx died peacefully at home with family at her side on Thursday, April 25, 2013. Cathy was born on November 29, 1961 in Houston, Texas to George Leo Stegemeier and Paula Elizabeth (Ross) Stegemeier. She grew up mainly in Houston, and also lived in The Netherlands and California. She received a BA in English from the University of Texas in 1984. The same year, she married André-Marc Luyckx after a couple years of a long-distance romance.

The couple started their family in Destrehan, Louisiana and had three children during that time. They also lived in Houston and Calgary during their 28 years of marriage. Cathy's primary focus and great success was ensuring that her family was well cared for and stayed together in harmony. As a mother, she provided her children with a strong moral and spiritual Foundation. Cathy very much enjoyed spending time with her family and interior design of her homes. Some of the pinnacle moments of family closeness were during vacation travels to fun places in North America and Europe. Cathy formed deep, long-lasting relationships with friends in all places she called home reflected by the outpouring of love and support during her final months. The family is thankful for the many wonderful memories that Cathy leaves with them.
Cathy is preceded in death by her mother, and leaves her husband, three children, Léon Gregory Luyckx, Stuart George Luyckx, and Annelise Rose Luyckx. She also leaves her father, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Léon and Claire Luyckx, her brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Cindy Stegemeier, and her brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Kurt and Joëlle Geary, Benôit and Kim Luyckx, Magnus and Evelyne Elqvist, and Nathalie Marshall, and 13 nieces and nephews.
The Vigil and Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 10688 Shadow Wood Drive, Houston, Texas 77043. Visitation will be at 5 PM on Monday, April 29, 2013, with Vigil Service at 6 PM and reception to follow at the Church. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Rev. Niall J. Nolan will officiate. The interment will be at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Illinois on May 4, 2013.
