Clyde Elmo Hampton a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, of Tomball passed away on November 3, 2013 at the age of 91. "Paw Paw" was born November 20, 1921 in Waller County, Texas to Clarence and Minnie Hampton. Elmo served honorably in the United States Navy as a medical corpsman from 1944 until 1946. A year of his service was at Fleet Hospital 103 on Guam which he helped construct. Admiral Nimitz dedicated the hospital and said it was the first in the Pacific Theater. Elmo is survived by his son Clyde Hampton and wife, Charlene of Tomball, daughter Anita Ashworth and husband Michael of Monticello, Florida, grandchildren Gregory Hampton and wife Kellie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lisa Crockett and husband Stoney of Whitehouse, Tennessee, Todd Hay and wife Gemma of Newberry, South Carolina. Great Grandchildren: Gregory Jr., Kyley, Lindsay, Ashley, Chase, Courtney, Jeffrey; His brother Robert Hampton and wife Eleanor of Sweetwater, Texas and nieces, nephews, and friends . He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, sister and wife of 65 years, Amelia Louise Hampton. Visitation will be held 5-7pm at the Klein Funeral Home in Tomball. Funeral services will be held at the Klein Funeral Home at 10am Thursday, November 7, 2013, with Lonnie Ritchie officiating. Interment will follow at Klein Memorial Park FM 2920. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Magnolia Church of Christ.
