Frances Allen


1930 - 2012 | Obituary Condolences
Frances Elizabeth Allen 81, was born in Buna, Texas on December 23, 1930, passed away on February 14, 2012. She was born to Flecher & Ruth Bond and after her father passed away at a young age, Frances' mother moved to Liberty, Texas & married R.M. McManus who raised her as his own. Frances married & raised her children in Houston, Texas, where she spent many years working at Tarrant Distributors & becoming quite successful in the liquor industry. After retiring she spent many years as a volunteer for Southeast Memorial Hospital, Pasadena Independent School District and the Red Cross. Frances' quick wit and generosity gave her a life surrounded by family and friends & will be missed by the people whose lives she touched. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Ira, sister Georgia, her son Danny & son in law Greg Hale. Frances is survived by her sisters Nora Jean King & Loraine Shauberger & brother Bobby McManus; her daughters Barbara Hale & husband Jay Tomek & Nancy Jo & husband Gary Johnstone; grandchildren Suzanne, Philip, Kelly, Andrew & Daryl; along with six great grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to Odyssey Hospice for their gentle, loving care and to Frances' special friend Ed Quilter whose weekly visits always lifted her spirits. A memorial service celebrating Frances' life will be held Sunday, February 19th at 2pm at the home of Barbara Tomek, 7425 Haywood Dr. Houston, Texas 77061.
