Genevieve Boyce

1922 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
Genevieve F. Kobak Boyce Genevieve (Gen) Boyce, joined God's choir April 28, 2014. She was born March 1, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois. Gen and her husband, Vernon MacArthur ("Mac") Boyce lived on a farm near Wynnewood, Oklahoma, for nearly 50 years before moving to Sugar Land, Texas, in 2000. Mac preceded her in death in 2004.
She was an English teacher in the Wynnewood School system for a number of years, but her true joy was music and her Church. Gen sang in the church choir and served as organist, music director, and lay Eucharist minister while living in Oklahoma. She also enjoyed being a part of the local Music Club for many years.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, (Rose) Anne and Stan Keller, her grandchildren Eric, Jonathan Taylor, and Erin Keller of Sugar Land, her sister, Alice Kobak Phipps of Ontario, California, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in Gen's name to the Houston Youth Symphony (houstonyouthsymphony.com).
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of the DeArman Funeral Home.
