James Ashton Braband passed away on Sunday, the 3rd of March 2013, in Houston, at the age of 22.
The Guest Book is expired.
While he was Ash to most, and "Babester" to a few, he was "Little James" to his Paw-Paw and was "Princess" to his family. Born in Houston on the 7th of August 1990, Ash graduated from Stratford High School in 2009 before heading to The University of Texas at Austin, where he was a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. A gifted writer and talented musician, Ash was a Communications major with his sights set on law school where he hoped to focus on entertainment law.
Ash had a sharp wit, a quick mind and lost few arguments (except to his mother). He was a tender-hearted brother, a devoted son and a loyal friend. While taken far too soon, he left a lasting impact on all who knew him, and will now join his G'Nell, Grandma, Grandfather Cooter and Uncle Gary.
He leaves behind his big brother Kirby who always had his back, his little brother Sloan who was his cook and roomie, and proud parents Sandi and Dexter. Also left behind is his doting grandfather James R. Monroe, aka "Paw-Paw," his Uncle Bubby, Jay Monroe, aka "Super Cool," the very special Todd Novak, and many loving friends.
A memorial service is to be conducted at four o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 7th of March, in the Sanctuary of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Drive in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, donations should be directed to the Cullen Dolphins Special Olympic Swim Team, for which Ash had been a coach, at 3002 San Felipe St., Houston, TX, 77019.
