James Bowman Obituary
James Dale Bowman June 19, 1942
February 8, 2013
James (Jim) Bowman of Houston, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013, after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). A private memorial service will be held by his closest relatives.
Jim was born in Glasgow, Montana, on June 19, 1942. He attended public schools in Havre, Montana and continued on to obtain both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana.
Jim dedicated his professional life to teaching others. He taught high school in Richland, Washington, where he met and married his wife, Lynda, in 1968. Jim became Montana State Supervisor for Distributive Education, then moved to Washington, D.C. where he was associated with the national office for that field. His final career decision involved a move to Houston, Texas, where he was one of the first instructors of Lone Star College, formerly known as North Harris College. Jim was a Professor of Marketing and Management until MS brought about his early retirement in 1992.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, Frank Bowman. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynda, of 45 years, his mother, Bette Bowman, his sister, Pam Weigum husband John, his niece Amanda and nephew Scott, and two great nephews. As a loving Christian husband, he will always be remembered with deep honor and respect. He was an incredibly kind person with a great sense of humor. Even through enduring his hardship, Jim never complained, was always positive and encouraging to those around him. He was a celebration of life and an inspiration to his family, friends and neighbors.
