James T. Russell, Jr. passed away at the age of 86 in peace, surrounded by his family on February 8, 2013. A loving husband of 62 years, a father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a dear friend, he lived a full, rich life, with no regrets. He was born in Pawtucket, R.I. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy in WWII in the Pacific theater. He worked at the General Electric Company for over 35 years and lived most of his life in New England, moving to Houston to be near family in 2010. He served on the Board of Directors and became Chairman of the Board of both the Pittsfield G.E. Employees Credit Union and the Pawtucket Credit Union. He was very proud of the work he did on these boards to highlight the importance of education on topics relating to running a successful credit union.

He is survived by his beloved wife Kathryn Russell, daughters Marilyn Russell Ablan (James Ablan), Pamela Russell (David Quick), grandsons John Russell Ablan, Gregory James Ablan, sister Elizabeth Fontaine (George Fontaine) and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James T. Russell, Sr. and Ethel Andrews Russell, his sisters Ethel Livsey, Ester Russell, and Ruth Greeno and his brother, Robert Russell.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held February 15, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Plaza at the Buckingham, 8550 Woodway Dr., Houston.
