Jamila Maya Barnard Obituary
Jamila Maya Barnard, 8 of Houston, Texas passed away on September 21st 2013 due to heart failure.
She was born to Myesha King and Brandon Barnard (of Virginia), October 18th 2004 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was a student at Georgetown Primary School in Chesapeake, Virginia prior to relocating to Houston.
Jamila was known for being a beautiful, kind, smart and respectful little girl. She loved to play dolls, video games, watch movies, read and write stories. Jamila's favorite foods were eating sweets with her dad, potato chips and her mom's cooking. She recently discovered her love for cooking and was considering a career in the culinary field when she got older.
Jamila is survived by her parents: Myesha King and Brandon Barnard, of Houston; grandparents Maurice and Lalani King, of Chesapeake and Joseph Affonso, of Newport, aunt Bianca King, of Norfolk and sister Athena Barnard of Houston.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 10 am. The funeral will begin at 11 am. Both services will be held at the Bradshaw-Carter home, 1734 W Alabama Street, Houston, TX 77098. Deacon Leonard Lockett of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart will be officiating.
