John Bustilloz Obituary
John R. Bustilloz, 93, passed away April 15th, 2013, in Houston, Texas. He was born in Nogales, Arizona but lived his life in Palacios, Texas.
John Bustilloz was a World War II Veteran that fought bravely in the Normandy Invasion on June 6, 1944. He fought with courage until he was wounded in the leg by shrapnel. He spent two years and three months recuperating from his wound. During his stay in the hospital, he and other veterans swapped card and magic tricks to pass the time and Johnny never forgot them. Johnny continued this tradition throughout his life and entertained audiences of all ages. Later in life, he was known as the "Gum Man". He greeted everyone that he met with a smile and a pack of gum. This always fared well with the ladies. Johnny will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his 3 sons (John Bustilloz, Andy Rendon, and Robert Bustilloz), 2 daughters (Gloria Garza and Rebecca Wilkerson), 5 Grandchildren (Edward Garza Jr., Michael Garza, Linda Garza Foster, Sandy Mansfield, and Pam Lainey), 5 Grandsons, 8 Granddaughters, and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20th, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Immediately followed by a Memorial Service from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The Visitation and Memorial Service will be held at Northbrook Village South Clubhouse, 6463 Creekbend Drive, Houston, Texas 77096.
