Julia Garcia Aguilar was born in her mother's home at 7118 Ave. H in Houston, Tx. on August 23, 1925. She died December 27, 2012 at the age of 87. She attended Franklin Elementary, Edison Jr High and Sam Houston High School. She married and eventually bought the house across the street from her mother, 7117 Ave. H and later bought 7116 Ave. H. She gave birth to five children having the second child Phyllis at 7118 Ave. H. Julia was a member of Broadway Baptist Church, past president of Women on Mission night group, past president Franklin Elementary School and life member, past president of Sociedad Union Fraternal from Felix H. Morales Funeral Home, president of Juan N. Seguin Historical Society, member of Daughter's of the Republic of Texas, mentor of Morales Elementary School, 1998 Governor's Volunteer Award, volunteer of Franklin, South Mayde Elementary School, Teacher's Aide Immaculate Heart of Mary School, volunteer at Memorial S.E. Hospital, Girl Scout Leader-Brownie assistant leader & active Cub Scout member. She is the great-great granddaughter of Col. Juan N. Seguin , defender of the Alamo and a true Texas Hero at the battle of San Jacinto.

Julia is preceded in death by her husband, Cesario Z. Aguilar; son, Arthur G. Aguilar; father, Gregorio Sodia Garcia; mother, Guadalupe Carbajal Garcia; brothers, Arthur Carbajal, Gregory C. Garcia, Tony C. Garcia; sisters, Gertrude De Hoyas, Gregoria Flores. Survived by her children, Carolina Walters / husband Terry, Felicitas Aguilar, Ceasar Aguilar / wife Rebecca, Guadalupe Rodriguez / husband Lee; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, 12-30-2012 from 2pm to 9pm at the chapel of Felix H. Morales Funeral Home where a wake service will be held 7pm. Final viewing will be held at 1pm on Monday, 12-31-2012 at Broadway Baptist Church, 7300 Lawndale Houston, Tx. 77012 where the funeral service will begin at 1:30pm. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
