August 23, 1983 -
July 10, 2013
Karambir "Karam" Singh Chahal, husband, brother, son, and incredible young man entering the prime of life passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 10. He was 29.
Born on August 23, 1983 in Bryan, Texas, Karam is the beloved son of Harnek and Surinder Chahal. After graduating from A & M Consolidated High School in 2001 year, Karam earned his bachelor's degree in marketing and management from Texas Tech University in 2007. He would have received his MBA this July, also from Texas Tech.
In 2003, Karam met the love of his life, Jillian Brown. They married on January 8, 2011.
An employee of Glazer's Distribution, he earned his Certified Specialist of Spirits and Certified Specialist of Wine accreditations at the company. Throughout his time at Glazer's, Karam empowered and encouraged his colleagues to be their best every day, while simultaneously reminding them to have fun. He never thought twice about rolling up his sleeves-or his pant legs-to jump into his work. Whatever the job, Karam was always "in it to win it."
Gracious, loving, and open, Karam touched every person in his life. From first-time acquaintances to lifelong friends, he made everyone he spoke to feel as if he or she were the only person in the world. He was everyone's favorite partner-in-crime because he was always ready for his next adventure, which he fearlessly took on with a sly grin and a mischievous, infectious laugh. Karam said "Yes" to life every day, and inspired his family, friends, and colleagues to do the same, to never turn away from a new experience.
Karam is survived by his wife, Jillian, his parents Harnek and Surinder Chahal, his brother Aman, his sister Mandy and his niece Jaya and nephews Yuvraj and Kenwar, and countless friends, all of whom he loved so much.
We will remember and celebrate Karam's life Wednesday, July 17th. Services will be held at the Brazos Center, at 3232 Briarcrest Drive in Bryan, Texas. Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and the memorial service will begin at 12. A religious service will be held at 1pm.*
Hillier Funeral Home (2301 East 29th St, Bryan, TX 77802) will receive flowers.
*For the Sikh religious service, please note that attendees will be asked to remove shoes and cover heads. So please bring your favorite shawl/handkerchief.*
