Kenneth Ray Palmer, devoted Son, Brother, Father, Husband, Grandpa, Uncle and Friend was reunited with cherished family members in Heaven, 11/21/11, after a brief battle with cancer. Ken was born 12/5/45 to Kenneth and Ray Merle Palmer in Houston, Texas. He was blessed with 2 children; Michael Alan Palmer and Lisa Carol Palmer (Greenspan) and was known as Papa Ken to 5 grandchildren. Ken married Susan Flori (Little Susie) April 23, 2004. They shared their passion for travel and enjoyed spending time with their devoted friends and family. From an early age, Ken excelled in sports. He lettered in football, basketball, baseball and track at Westbury High School and went on to play football at the collegiate level. He obtained his Accounting degree from the University of Houston.
Ken had a successful career of 28 years at Pipeco Services Inc in Houston, and shared his love for golf, hunting and fishing with his lifelong friends and colleagues. A once in a lifetime opportunity was realized last summer when he hit a hole in one at Champions Golf Club, his home away from home where he was a member for many years. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Karlton and his son, Michael Alan. He is survived by his wife, Susan Marie Palmer, mother, Ray Merle Palmer, daughter, Lisa Greenspan (Eric), daughter in law Renee Palmer, sisters Kaye Carbajal (Juan), Joani Fite (Charlie) and Liz Chapman (Darryl), 5 grandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews. Funeral Liturgy will be held 1pm Saturday, November 26, 2011 at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Ken was a High School Friend. I always loved Ken's spirit, personally, and love for life and friends. We ran track and played football at Westbury HS in 1962 thru 1964, always giving everything to the moment. I talked with Ken at the last reunion (2010) and golfed with him, his wonderful personality and friendship never changed. He will be missed but never forgotten by everyone who knew him.

I was a classmate of Ken's at Westbury High School. From even those early days, he was a gentleman, a devoted friend, an excellent athelete and a "Rebel WITH a cause!" Ken, you will be missed tremendously and your family is in my thoughts. You were called from this earth way too soon. Sincerely, Diane Fitzgerald
